Terms of Service
Last updated: 17 June 2026
This is a starter template and not a substitute for professional legal review. Have a lawyer review it before relying on it.
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of BetterCo at www.betterco.club and in the BetterCo app. By creating an account or using BetterCo, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use BetterCo.
1. What BetterCo is
BetterCo is a peer-support community that places you in a small cohort of people going through a similar life or income transition, with an optional directory of mentors and service providers. BetterCo is currently invite-only.
2. Peer support, not professional advice
BetterCo provides peer experience-sharing. It is not professional, medical, psychological, legal, or financial advice, and it is not a substitute for care from a qualified professional. This is especially important for cohorts dealing with grief, divorce, caregiving, and similar circumstances. Mentors and members share personal experience only. Always seek the advice of a qualified professional for medical, mental-health, legal, or financial decisions.
If you are in crisis or thinking about harming yourself, contact local emergency services or a crisis helpline immediately. BetterCo is not an emergency service and cannot provide urgent help.
3. Eligibility and accounts
- You must be at least 18 years old to use BetterCo.
- You need a valid invite code to create an account during the beta.
- Provide accurate information and keep your password secure. You are responsible for activity under your account.
- One account per person. Do not impersonate others or share login credentials.
4. Acceptable use
When using BetterCo, you agree not to:
- Harass, threaten, abuse, or harm other members or mentors.
- Share content that is unlawful, hateful, discriminatory, or sexually exploitative.
- Post others' private information, or share what is said in cohorts outside the cohort without consent.
- Spam, advertise, or solicit in a way unrelated to your cohort's purpose.
- Present yourself as a licensed professional providing professional services when you are not.
- Attempt to break, overload, scrape, or gain unauthorised access to the platform.
Cohorts are confidential spaces built on trust. What members share is meant to stay within the cohort.
5. Your content
You keep ownership of the content you post. You grant BetterCo a limited licence to host and display your content so the platform can function (for example, showing your messages to your cohort). You are responsible for what you post and confirm you have the right to share it.
6. Mentors, providers, and bookings
Mentors and service providers are independent individuals, not employees of BetterCo. While we make reasonable efforts to vet them, BetterCo does not guarantee any outcome, qualification, or result from a session, and is not party to any arrangement between you and a mentor or provider. Any payments features are currently in a test/sandbox mode and do not process real money.
7. Reporting and moderation
Every space has a report option. We may review reports, remove content, and suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or harm the community, at our discretion.
8. Suspension and termination
You may stop using BetterCo at any time. We may suspend or end your access if you break these Terms or to protect the community or the platform. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (such as disclaimers and limitation of liability) will continue to apply.
9. Disclaimers
BetterCo is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, to the extent permitted by law. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any cohort, mentor, or content will meet your expectations.
10. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, BetterCo and its operators are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for decisions you make based on peer content. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.
11. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms as BetterCo evolves. We will update the “last updated” date and, for material changes, take reasonable steps to notify you. Continuing to use BetterCo after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts of India have jurisdiction over any disputes, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules.
